This is an original press photo. Carrot tops should be vivid green and unwilted. Harlan Blackmon of Baytown, a year-around gardening fan, was proud of his oversized carrots showing above. The big one was 18 inches around. Any carrot, Blackman said, can grow big if it stays long enough in good enriched soil. Baytown, Texas Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 04-09-1969.
