This is an original press photo. The friendly, fleecy llma is only now bouncing back from a brush with extinction earlier in this century. NOVA reports on the importance of the hardy animal, and its cousins the alpaca, vicuna and guanaco, to native culture in the high Andes. "In the Land of the Llamas" airs Tuesday, March 6, 1990 at 8 pm on PBS. NOVA is produced for PBS by WGBH Boston. Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 4-25-1991.
