antique wooden carousel horse

Description

This horse measures about 56” from front lip to back of tail. Total height is 66” but horse is approximately 36” from head to feet.
I inherited this item from my father in law who was a collector. I can not find any markings other than on the belly that has XXX //
I was told this is a very old horse but do not have much information on it.
There are several seams that are visible in the paint but otherwise is a complete piece.
