This auction features an
Original 1933 World's Fair Mickey Mouse Ingersoll Character Watch In Original Box Complete With 7 Link Metal Band With Mickey Charms With a Working Clasp.
This watch is currently wound up tight and
NOT
running.  The hairspring is bad. You can pull out the stem and the hands move freely to set the time.  The crystal has been replaced but the original crystal is included (shown in photos).  The box and watch both show use and wear.  There is some faded writing on the top of the box and a faded stamp on the rear of the box.  Some of the paper is coming loose on one corner. The paper hinge is starting to come loose.  These should be easily repaired / glued.  I will leave that up to the new owner.
The Nº1 Mickey Mouse Watch from the Chicago World’s Fair has different characteristics from the later models. The bezel has Art Deco geometric designs with wire lugs.
There is a noticeable difference between the Wire lug Ingersoll Mite model (Chicago Expo) and the Deluxe Mite (released in the fall of 1933). The watch face has various design differences, the most obvious being that the numbers 5 and 7 in the Wire lug version sit above and outside of Mickey's knees, while in later versions the font characters for the 5 and 7 are reduced in size and printed below the knees. The Nº1 wire lug Mickey also has a unique second wheel disc with no arrow marker between the spinning Mickey images. The Deluxe Mite and succeeding models have the arrow between 2 of the 3 Mickeys to determine the seconds on the spinning disc.
The
Nº1  Box is unique to the Wire lug Mickey Watch and is the only box to have the century of progress sticker on it.
